What is Hypnosis?

The Hypnotic state is a naturally occurring state of relaxed concentration characterized by a heightened suggestibility and a narrowed focus while still remaining alert. It is similar to the experience of being totally engrossed while watching a movie or reading an interesting book.
Under Hypnosis the Client is fully alert to their surroundings and can even respond by speaking. Hypnosis is a safe modality and contrary to popular misconceptions a person does not lose their free will or self control when hypnotized.
You cannot be made to do anything under Hypnosis that you would not do in your normal everyday waking state.

How it Works:

In a typical session, the Hypnotist guides the client into attaining a deeply relaxed state of mind The goal of Hypnosis is to bypass the critical, judging conscious mind thereby allowing our subconscious mind to the forefront. The subconscious is the domain of our imagination, dreams, creativity, emotions and long term memories. It is here that beneficial suggestions are more likely to be accepted and implemented by the Client. The Client is taught how to reinforce these suggestions with Self Hypnosis.
